- Eligibility – To be eligible to participate, viewers must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and reside in the KGCW-TV viewing area, which consists of the following Illinois counties: Bureau, Carroll, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Jo Daviess, Knox, LaSalle, Lee, McDonough, Mercer, Ogle, Rock Island, Stark, Warren and Whiteside; and the following Iowa counties: Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry, Jackson, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine and Scott. Employees of KGCW-TV, KLJB-TV, KISS 101.3FM, Clear Channel Broadcasting, their parent companies, advertising agencies, fulfillment companies, printers, distributors and mailers and the immediate families (or non-family members of the same household) of each are not eligible to play. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. The term “non-family members” include boyfriends, girlfriends, roommates or tenants at the same address.
- How to Play – Viewers 18 years of age and older must watch Hart of Dixie, Mondays at 8:00pm on KGCW-TV. Within each of these shows KGCW-TV will run a :10 contest commercial that shows that night’s “Word of the Week.” Viewers must then listen to KISS the following Tuesday morning for their chance to call in and win one of three weekly prizes.
- Contest Dates – The ‘watch’ portion runs the following Mondays – April 30th, May 7th and May 14th, 2012. The ‘listen’ portion runs the following Tuesdays – May 1st, May 8th and May 15th, 2012. The Quad Cities’ CW reserves the right to end the contest at any time without advance warning.
- Selection of Contest Winners – KISS will solicit listeners each Tuesday to call in. Each time, they will take three callers to correctly identify that week’s “Word of the Week.” There are three (3) winners selected each week for three (3) weeks. Only one (1) winner per household. On or about Tuesday, May 15th, one weekly winner will be selected at random to receive the grand prize.
- Prizes – Weekly prizes are nine (9) $100 HyVee gift cards. The grand prize is $1,000 in HyVee gift cards. The Quad Cities’ CW reserves the right to change the prize to someone of equal or greater value without advance warning.
- General Conditions – No purchase necessary. Purchase will not improve an entrant’s chances of winning. KGCW-TV and KISS will not be responsible for loss of service to contest number due to overload, busy signals or any other reason that may prevent any individual from completing his/her call. If there is any interruption of power at KGCW-TV or KISS during the contest play, the contest will be replayed at the resumption of service. All viewers who have won ANY KGCW-TV or KLJB-TV contests are ineligible for 90 days from the date of that contest’s completion, NOT the date of their winning. If it is determined that a winner falls into this 90 day lock-out period, they will be disqualified and another winner will be chosen. ***EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1ST, 2011, ALL GRAND PRIZES WINNERS ARE INELIGIBLE FROM WINNING ANY CONTESTS WITH KGCW-TV OR KLJB-TV FOR ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY (180) DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THEIR WINNING** By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these rules. Decisions of KGCW-TV shall be final and binding. Taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes cannot be transferred, redeemed for cash or exchanged. No substitute prizes, except at the discretion of KGCW-TV, will be allowed. If this happens, KGCW-TV will substitute prizes of identical value. By entering, each contestant consents to the use of his/her voice, name and likeness for broadcast transmission, advertising and promotion in connection with the contest. KGCW-TV makes no warranty, representation or agreement that any videotape or likeness of the winners will be broadcast or otherwise used in any manner. The winners must execute an affidavit of eligibility, liability release and/or publicity release and any other documentation that KGCW-TV requires. Failure to claim prize within ten (10) business days of winning shall result in forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner will be selected. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws apply. KGCW-TV, KLJB-TV, KISS, Clear Channel Broadcasting, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or usage of any prize awarded hereunder. KGCW-TV reserves the right to revise and update the rules without advance notice.
