Must be 18 years or older to win/qualify. No purchase necessary. Submission phase of the Contest runs from 12-04-10 to 12-19-10; voting phase of the Contest runs from 12-20-10 to noon on 12-24-10. One entry per household. Void where prohibited. Chances of winning depend on the number of entries via registration to the KLJB.com website. Prizes are non-transferable. To enter the promotion/contest fill out the official entry form and all registration materials found at www.kljb.com. Only ONE entry/photo per household will be accepted. All entries must have complete information. No mechanically reproduced entries will be permitted. Illegible and/or incomplete forms are ineligible. Entry forms are void if forged, altered or obtained other than as set out in the rules. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. Odds of winning depends upon the number of people who have correctly submitted photos and all contest entry forms. Entries must include name, street address, city address, zip code and telephone number where the qualifier can be reached. In addition, one photo submission of a “holiday decorated house” must be submitted in the preferred format of jpeg.
All correct photo submissions will be posted on the “Deck the Halls” contest webpage on the Fox 18 website. This contest is open to all viewers and visitors to the webpage to vote for the best holiday decorated house. Visitors must register on the website to be able to place their vote.
Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.
Entrants further grant the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.
KLJB Fox 18 reserves the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, Inc., and/or to KLJB Fox 18. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.
UPICKEM and KLJB Fox 18 are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.
Winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold the prize until completed form W-9 is received.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
Qualifiers will be required to present a valid driver’s license or other form of identification at check-in to verify their claim of the prize. All entries must be received by noon CST on Dec. 24, 2010. Winner will be required to execute an Indemnification and Waiver of Liability, whereby participating entrants agree that KLJB Fox 18, its subsidiaries, their affiliates, officers, directors, agents and their employees are not liable for any injury or damage of any kind resulting from the entry of the contest. Entrants agree to give permission to use entrant's name and/or likeness for the purpose of advertising and trade without compensation. Qualifier and Winner must meet eligibility requirements as required by KLJB Fox 18. KLJB Fox 18, its subsidiaries, their affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and their employees shall not be responsible for lost, misdirected, illegible or late entries. By entering, contestants accept these rules and agree to be bound by the results of the contest. All decisions made KLJB Fox 18 are final. Rules may be changed or modified as conditions warrant.
Employees of Grant Communications and their immediate families are not allowed to participate. Advertising agencies in affiliation with Grant Communications and their employees and immediate families are not allowed to participate. All entries must be from the KLJB Fox 18 viewing area.
KLJB Fox 18 and Grant Communications hold the right to deny any and all entries if not adherent to the rules or would pose a danger to themselves or other employees of KLJB Fox 18 or Grant Communications.
All viewers who have won ANY Fox 18 contests are ineligible for ninety (90) days from the date of that contest’s completion. This includes any contests won on KLJB Fox 18’s sister station, KGCW The Quad Cities’ CW.
Prize Redemption/Claim/Releases: Prizes must be claimed within thirty (30) days from the date of winning. Unclaimed prizes will be forfeited. Winners must complete a signed affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release. To meet Federal Tax Regulations, all winners must present their social security number and are responsible for all taxes associated with prizes. Prizes are considered income and taxes on said prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner, by acceptance of a prize, agrees to release KLJB Fox 18 and Grant Communications, its ownership, sponsors, advertising and promotion agencies, their immediate families, successors and assigns from any and all liability for claims, actions or proceedings for injuries or damages sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while traveling to, preparing for or participating in any prize-related activity.
There is no prize at this time, other than the winner being featured during the Fox 18 Nine O’clock News on Christmas night. However, if a prize is added, its value will be listed here.
All decisions are final. KLJB Fox 18 holds the right to change any aspect of contest at any time without prior notice.
