1. Eligibility – To be eligible to participate, viewers must be eighteen (21) years of age or older and reside in the KLJB-TV viewing area, which consists of the following Illinois counties: Bureau, Carroll, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Jo Daviess, Knox, LaSalle, Lee, McDonough, Mercer, Ogle, Rock Island, Stark, Warren and Whiteside; and the following Iowa counties: Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry, Jackson, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine and Scott. Employees of KLJB-TV, KGCW-TV, WXLP-FM, Cumulus Broadcasting, Subway Restaurants, their parent companies, advertising agencies, fulfillment companies, printers, distributors and mailers and the immediate families (or non-family members of the same household) of each are not eligible to play. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren. The term “non-family members” include boyfriends, girlfriends, roommates or tenants at the same address.
2. How to Play – Viewers 21 years of age and older must watch Modern Family at 5:30pm and 6:00pm weeknights on KLJB-TV for the Vacation Word of the Day. These contest keys will appear within program content. Viewers must then listen to 104.9FM KBOB the following weekday morning between 6-10am for their chance to call in and win the daily prize.
3. Contest Dates – The ‘watch’ portion runs Monday, September 23rd through Thursday, October 3rd, 2013, weekdays only. The ‘listen’ portion runs Tuesday, September 24th through Friday, October 4th, 2013. The Grand Prize winner will be selected and announced during the Dave & Darren show on KBOB on Monday, October 7th, 2013. That winner will also be announced on Fox 18 that evening and for one week after. Fox 18 reserves the right to end the contest at any time without advance warning.
4. Selection of Contest Winners – The 18th caller with the correct Vacation Word of the Day wins. There is one prize awarded per day for nine (9) weekdays. All daily prizewinners are qualified for the grand prize. The Grand Prize winner will be selected at random. Only one daily winner per household.
5. Prizes – Nine (9) daily winners will each receive the following: A weekend getaway to Des Moines from the Greater Des Convention and Visitors Bureau, and a $100 gas card. A weekend getaway consists of a 1-night hotel stay for four (at either the Hyatt Place Des Moines Downtown, Adventureland Inn, or Renaissance Des Moines Savory Hotel), tickets for four to the Des Moines Community Playhouse, a dozen cupcakes from Momma CT’s Cupcakes, and a $25 gift card to Summerset Winery (this is why winners must be 21 or older). Three prize packs also include either four tickets to the Prinicipal Charity Golf Classic, four day passes to Climb Iowa, or dinner for four at the Machine Shed. Weekend getaway packages vary in value from $292 up to $392. Each winner may chose whichever package they prefer from what is available at the time of claiming; there is no guarantee of what packages will be available when daily winners come in to claim their prizes. The grand prize winner will receive a $1,800 gift certificate to Gulliver’s Travel.
6. General Conditions – No purchase necessary. Purchase will not improve an entrant’s chances of winning. KLJB-TV and KBOB-FM will not be responsible for loss of service to contest number due to overload, busy signals or any other reason that may prevent any individual from completing his/her call. If there is any interruption of power at KLJB-TV or KBOB-FM during the contest play, the contest will be replayed at the resumption of service. All viewers who have won ANY KLJB-TV or KGCW-TV contests are ineligible for 90 days from the date of that contest’s completion, NOT the date of their winning. If it is determined that a winner falls into this 90 day lock-out period, they will be disqualified and another winner will be chosen. All Grand Prize winners are ineligible from winning any contests with KLJB-TV or KGCW-TV for six months from the date of their winning. By entering each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these rules. Decisions of KLJB-TV shall be final and binding. Taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prizes cannot be transferred, redeemed for cash or exchanged. No substitute prizes, except at the discretion of KLJB-TV, will be allowed. By entering, each contestant consents to the use of his/her voice, name and likeness for broadcast transmission, advertising and promotion in connection with the contest. KLJB-TV makes no warranty, representation or agreement that any videotape or likeness of the winners will be broadcast or otherwise used in any manner. The winners must execute an affidavit of eligibility, liability release and/or publicity release and any other documentation that KLJB-TV requires. Failure to claim prize within ten (10) business days of fist notification of winning from a KLJB-TV representative shall result in forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner will be selected. If an alternate winner cannot be chosen before the contest ends, the prizes will not be awarded. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state and local laws apply. KLJB-TV, KGCW-TV, KBOB-FM, Cumulus Broadcasting, the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or usage of any prize awarded hereunder. KLJB-TV reserves the right to revise and update the rules without advance notice.
